Terms of Service

Last updated: March 31, 2026

1. Service Description

PressGrade is an AI-powered media credibility scoring tool. It generates trust scores for media figures and outlets based on automated analysis of publicly available information. Scores are produced by artificial intelligence and represent algorithmic assessments — not editorial opinions, not legal findings, and not statements of fact.

2. No Guarantee of Accuracy

PressGrade scores are generated by AI using web search results and are intended as informational tools only. We make no guarantee of accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any score, finding, or assessment produced by the service.

Scores should not be used as the sole basis for any decision regarding the reputation, employment, or character of any individual or organization. Users should independently verify information and exercise their own judgment.

3. User Responsibilities

By using PressGrade, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when creating an account
  • Not use the service to harass, defame, or harm any individual or organization
  • Not attempt to manipulate scores or circumvent usage limits
  • Not use automated tools to scrape or bulk-access the service
  • Not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit PressGrade scores without written permission

4. Accounts and Payment

Free accounts provide limited access to PressGrade features. Pro accounts require a paid subscription processed through Stripe.

Billing. Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually depending on the plan selected. You may cancel at any time through the Stripe billing portal accessible from your Account page.

Refunds. Refund requests made within 7 days of initial purchase will be honored. After 7 days, no refunds will be issued for the current billing period. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

5. Methodology Changes

We reserve the right to modify the scoring methodology, criteria weights, and assessment approach at any time. Scores may change as the methodology is refined. We are not obligated to maintain historical scores or notify users of methodology changes.

6. Limitation of Liability

PressGrade is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, PressGrade and its operators shall not be liable for:

  • Any inaccuracies in scores or assessments
  • Decisions made based on PressGrade scores
  • Service interruptions, data loss, or technical failures
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding any claim.

7. Intellectual Property

PressGrade, its scoring methodology, and all related content are the intellectual property of PressGrade. Users may reference and share individual scores with attribution but may not systematically reproduce, scrape, or redistribute scores at scale.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms or uses the service in a manner we deem harmful, fraudulent, or abusive.

9. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or the use of PressGrade shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the State of New York.
